ABOUT US

Our Mission

Allegany County K9 Compassionate Fund transitions our local law enforcement K9s from a working environment into retirement. We wish to provide a caring and loving forever home to these retired police K9s through support and contributions from our community.

Our Goals

Allegany County K9 Compassionate Fund exists to provide the highest level of retirement care to working dogs who have dedicated their lives to serving our communities! We want to provide all our local K9s with the love, support and care they need to live out their best lives in retirement. It is our wish to help rehabilitate and rehome these loyal dogs so they can enjoy retirement to the fullest extent.

These special K9s have worked in the most intense situations, protecting our communities and keeping them safer. Most police K9s retire because of old age. After 7-10 years or more of duty, these dogs are also faced with physical and mental injuries. Dogs who retire from law enforcement may exhibit aggressive behavior and require special training or re-socialization in retirement. Most of the time, their handlers adopt the dog into their family.

These law enforcement K9s need our help to transition to civilian life. Their handler and new family also need help with the cost for additional training or veterinary care. It is our goal to do just that!

Our Hope. Our Why.

These law enforcement dogs have dedicated most of their lives to our communities. We owe them a peaceful retirement with a loving family. When you donate to the Allegany County K9 Compassionate Fund, you help give our local K9 heroes a chance at a long, fulfilling retirement, surrounded with the love and care they deserve.
